The term "gasshuku" means "under one roof" and is used in this context to descri
be the gathering of karate-ka (practitioners)
in one place to train together. Gasshuku trainings are an excellent opportunity
to examine techniques in much greater depth
and to review and refine kihon (basics), kata, and kumite (sparring) skills. In
addition, an important part of the tradition
of gasshuku, is to offer fellow practitioners; new friends and veteran members,
the chance to meet and train together.
